Exploring nature with our kids is a cornerstone of our homeschool journey. Now that my kids are a bit older, they often run off quickly when we’re out in nature with friends. Scavenger hunts are a fantastic way to help our kids to slow down and take a closer look at the world around them. I combined the idea of a scavenger hunt with a BINGO game with this new free printable. Grab your Free Garden BINGO Scavenger Hunt below!
Usually BINGO games are played indoors with a parent or teacher calling out numbers or objects that kids hunt for on their BINGO cards. Those BINGO games are a huge hit with kids, but they’re meant to be played indoors.
This is a bit different.
A BINGO Game with a Twist
You CAN play this BINGO game indoors when needed. I’ve even included cards the parent or teacher can use with the game. However, my hope is that you’ll use this game to get your kids outside!
The items on this game can be found in backyards, flower and vegetable gardens, community and school gardens, and even city parks. Encourage your kids to slow down and hunt for these plants and creatures in your garden or another natural area near you.
Laminate the BINGO cards so you can use them again and again. This will also protect them from dirt, mud, and water while the kids are out on this adventure. Just wipe clean and use them while exploring a different garden space or in a different season.
This game has 8 unique cards for your kids and their friends to enjoy!
For larger groups, check out this version wit 34 unique cards.
