New Year Writing Activity

I found a really great printable for a New Year’s Eve writing activity. I think some of it was a bit difficult for Storyteller to understand. We really had to talk about a few of the items such as “greatest lesson learned”. She enjoyed doing it and it’s these types of activities that help her to understand the “why” of our school work. Why does she need to know how to write?

Well, here is a great example of putting it to use in a real life activity instead of just some unconnected letters and words on a piece of paper. It will be fun to add to this each year and look back at the previous years. I was really surprised at how well she wrote in the small spaces. This sizing makes it better for older kids but she really concentrated on making her letters fit. At first she wanted to use lowercase letters since that’s what she’s been working on but I think focusing on the small letter size took up too much energy so she wanted to revert back to uppercase letters. I have some calendar activities that I’ve been holding off on introducing because of the small space allowed for writing but this showed me that she’s ready for it.
