Gratitude and Kindness All Year Long
Expressing gratitude and showing kindness isn’t just for the holiday season! Try to extend these habits into the new year. A few years ago we started a dinner time tradition of each of us naming three things we are thankful for each day. We probably started it around Christmas time, but we’ve continued it all year long for several years now. We also each name our favorite part of the day.
One of the ways we show kindness or give all year is to volunteer as a family. We’ve created a year-round culture of volunteering with our kids. Organizations don’t just need volunteers during the last two months of the year. Many homeschool moms start looking for volunteer opportunities for their kids during the holiday season. However, the best way to get our kids excited about volunteering is to lead by example. Read more about Volunteering as a Family is this post.
